Heather Hixson

Program Manager for the ETV Scholarship Program
My name is Heather Hixson and I am a Programs Manager in the OKSA program. My duties are for the ETV scholarship program, helping to coordinate the Oklahoma Foster Youth Advocates, and coordinating with the tribes to ensure they know what services their young people can access. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from University of Central Oklahoma in December 2004 and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern State University in May 2009. I was employed for seven years at Muscogee Creek Nation, three of that was working with youth in the custody of the tribe. I held a caseload of young people who were going to age out in the permanent custody of the tribe. Since that time, working with transitioning young people has been a passion and especially those who are not connected to their tribal culture. I am so excited to be a part of the OKSA team and help young people reach for their dreams.
